<p>&#8220;How do we get our company website to the top of Google?&#8221;</p>
<p>People understand the value of being at the top. They know that it means free advertising. They know they should be there..</p>
<p>So how do you do it?</p>
<p>It comes down to one simple concept: Relevancy.</p>
<p>Let me explain&#8230;</p>
<p>Right now, believe it or not the Internet is still very young. In the grand scheme of things we haven&#8217;t even begun to scratch the surface of what is possible online.</p>
<p>As the Internet grows up, so will search engines like Google.</p>
<p>And as they grow up, they will get smarter.</p>
<p>But RIGHT NOW &#8211; you need to hold Google&#8217;s hand sometimes because it can&#8217;t always find you.</p>
<p>Lets say you are a Carpet Cleaner. And a potential customer in your city types  &#8216;Carpet Cleaner&#8217; into Google. But your website is nowhere to be seen.</p>
<p>That is because Google doesn&#8217;t know that you do carpet cleaning&#8230;</p>
<p>How do let Google know?</p>
<p>You need to ensure that on your website, your content including the text talks about your service and uses the keywords &#8216;carpet cleaning&#8217;. The next time Google inspects your website to see what each page is about&#8230; they will see the words &#8216;carpet cleaning&#8217; and determine that is what your website is about.</p>
<p>There is more to keywords than just that &#8211; you must place the keywords in the correct locations such as your title tags, descriptions, meta tags, headers, footers etc. But the main thing is you mention your particular service.</p>
<p>The second thing you need to do in order to get Google to notice you more is get inbound links. What this means is that if you have a business associate with a website of their own &#8211; and they link to your site from theirs &#8211; Google will see that link. The more links your website has pointing to it &#8211; the better because Google sees your site as important and therefore moves your website up the rankings to the top of the page.</p>
<p>Now again, there is much more to getting links than what I have discussed here &#8211; but that is how I can explain it simply.</p>

<p>If you are in business it should be to generate leads and sales. Seems simple and obvious right?</p>
<p>Well most websites that are online right now FAIL to do this one simple thing&#8230; And that blows me away because many businesses invest heavily into their websites, but they are missing out on a massive amount of good business. If you are going to invest heavily into your online presence (which you SHOULD be doing), then you need to ensure you are getting the biggest &#8216;bang for your buck&#8217;.</p>
<p>So how do you ensure that you get the best return on investment?</p>
<p>Quite simply &#8211; you need to have a <strong>clear call to action</strong> throughout your website. You need to direct customers and give them the next step. People need to be led through the entire process. Think of it as closing the sale or the lead. Whatever you want to call it &#8211; you NEED to do it.</p>
<p>Just doing this one thing will at least double the enquiries from your website.</p>
